Attend this presentation on to hear Henry Lowood, curator for history of science & technology collections and for film & media collections at Stanford University, speak about this multi-university, interdisciplinary project funded by the Library of Congress and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Since 2000, Lowood has led How They Got Game, a research and archival preservation project devoted to the history of digital games and simulations at Stanford. His most recent publication is The Machinima Reader, published by MIT Press and co-edited with Michael Nitsche. Businesses across the globe have embraced social media as a key channel for communicating with customers, business partners, and the general public. Our presenter will explore the impact of social media on records management and e-discovery, examine a variety approaches taken by organizations to address these challenges, and view examples of social media records management in practice today. Anil Chawla, the presenter, is the Founder and CEO of ArchiveSocial (http://archivesocial.com), a social media archiving company that enables businesses to automate records management of activity on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
