So many activities, so little time

As usual, I am apologizing for my absence.  I have been busy with many activities; two that you may want to participate in this week are listed here:

Preserving Virtual Worlds, Virtual Worlds Presentation taking place on SLIS Island in Second Life - Monday, February 25, 2013, 6-7 pm SLT (pacific time). 

Attend this presentation on to hear Henry Lowood, curator for history of science & technology collections and for film & media collections at Stanford University, speak about this multi-university, interdisciplinary project funded by the Library of Congress and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.   Since 2000, Lowood has led How They Got Game, a research and archival preservation project devoted to the history of digital games and simulations at Stanford. His most recent publication is The Machinima Reader, published by MIT Press and co-edited with Michael Nitsche. The Next Major Challenge in Records Management is Already Here: Social Media, MARA Guest Lecture taking place in Collaborate (web conferencing) - Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 6-7 pm PST

Businesses across the globe have embraced social media as a key channel for communicating with customers, business partners, and the general public.
